The Vice-Provost, Academic Programs (VPAP) Team is the recipient of the Collaborative Team of the Year Award for streamlining U of T’s graduate programs and for laying the foundation for future enhancements and innovations in academic governance. The Team, consisting of members from the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), the Office of the Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education (OVPIUE), and Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) include Lachmi Singh (Team Lead), Daniella Mallinick (former Team Lead), Rodney Branch, Brian Desrosiers-Tam, Jennifer Francisco, Pierre Hanna, Emma del Junco, Andre Kalamandeen, Annette Knott, Edith Krohmalnik, Kaelyn Lindquist, Amy Li, David Lock, Rose Munjee, Sarah Peake, Karen Shim, Alexandra Varela, David Wang, and Julian Weinrib.
The Team’s project involved transitioning graduate programs and courses into the Curriculum Management (CM) platform, aiming to improve efficiency and accuracy. They worked extensively to analyze program structures, conduct gap analyses, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition. The initiative addresses significant issues such as manual handling of course change proposals, lack of institutional records for graduate course descriptions, and inconsistent communication of program information. By implementing the CM platform, the Team streamlined processes, enhanced student support, and improved academic governance.
