Desma holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Human Resources & Industrial Relations and Economics; and a Masters degree in Human Resources. Desma started her career at the University of Toronto in September 2015 as the Director, Human Resource Services within University Operations. In February 2018, Desma joined the Human Resource Services at UTSC where she is the Director and reports to the Vice President & Principal.  

The UTSC HR office overseas the Human Resources and Payroll for all UTSC staff and faculty. Human Resource Services aims to enhance the University’s mission and foster a healthy, collaborative and equitable work environment that will attract, develop and retain the best qualified talent to support the campus’ strategic vision of inspiring inclusive excellence.
