Review of the Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters
Overview
In October 2024, the Provost announced that Professor Heather Boon, Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life, will be leading a consultation on changes to Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters (CBAM), with the support of the Office of University Counsel.
The Review will focus on revising CBAM to confirm alignment with principles of procedural fairness, to provide clarity of roles and responsibilities, and to ensure fairness and honesty in the academic work of students.
Vice-Provost Boon will undertake wide consultation on these and other principles foundational to academic integrity at U of T. In a later phase, members of the U of T community will have a chance to comment on proposed changes to the language of CBAM. As an initial step, students, faculty members, staff, and librarians as well as other stakeholder groups will be asked for feedback about the foundational principles.
All members of the University community are invited to submit their feedback through the consultation website, which will remain open until November 30, 2024.
