Melodie Buhagiar is the recipient of the Innovative Service Award for her creative approach to improving efficiency and resource accessibility.

Melodie is the Associate Director of Academic Policy & Process in the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life. One notable example of Melodie’s achievements is her transformation of the delivery of training in Academic HR Data Quality to business offices across the University. Her introduction of new online modules not only saved staff time, but also provided a valuable resource that could be accessed by business officers at a time convenient to them. This shift in training delivery has been praised for its effectiveness in addressing the ongoing challenge of faculty data integrity.

In addition to her contributions to training, Melodie has identified various ways to enhance business processes within the portfolio. She oversaw the migration to SharePoint and implemented features such as an online portal for file submission and tracking, a communication site for sharing resources, and a secure platform for policy updates. Melodie’s innovative mindset has not only improved internal operations but has also strengthened collaboration with Dean’s Offices and the Provost’s Office, showcasing her ability to drive value-added services for clients and streamline organizational processes.
